Equality Outcome Setting Seminar
Can you help public services better support disabled people in your area? Independent Living in Scotland are running a seminar on Equality Outcome Setting at Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 2nd February 2012 from 11am-3pm, lunch included.
Every public body in Scotland – including councils, the NHS, education authorities police and fire service – will have new duties under the Equality Act. This includes working to set out equality outcomes. These equality outcomes will help public bodies focus on what needs to be done and how they will do it. Independent Living in Scotland (ILiS) is organising a series of seminars to explain exactly what Equality Outcome Setting (EOS) is and how disabled people and organisations can get involved.
There will be presentations from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Disabled People’s Organisations and Public Bodies.
There will also be the chance to take part in workshops giving you the chance to discuss the opportunities and challenges around EOS for disabled people.

Consultation: Transport Scotland - Rail 2014
Transport Scotland are consulting on the future of Scotland’s railways. The contract for rail passenger services (ScotRail) finishes in 2014 and new arrangements need to be put in place. Transport Scotland want Scotland’s rail services to be developed with passenger interests at the heart.
You can complete the consultation by clicking on the link below:
Transport Scotland Consultation
The consultation asks a wide range of questions but does not specifically address issues for disabled people. Due to this the Scottish Disability Equality Forum (SDEF) are asking for views of disabled passengers so that they can be passed onto Transport Scotland.
The SDEF questionnaire can be completed at the link below:
